Fair Trade Kantha Kimono Jacket -Unisex Green Hand-Stitched

Third reincarnation jacket: first life, cotton sarees, second life, a hand-stitched blanket, third life, this jacket. Made at fairtrade production house in India to my design.

This means not just paying them in the short term, but also helping them improve their skills, increase standards of living and create secure and sustainable livelihoods for future generations.

This jacket is made from vintage Bengali Kantha blankets. Kantha is made from layers of vintage cotton saris, hand-stitched together. Each blanket is different so each jacket is one of a kind. It shows beautiful signs of use, age, mending, patchwork and reinforcement.

The saris are recycled to blankets, and the blankets recycled to jackets, making these jackets extremely sustainable!!

This jacket looks like a denim jacket, with 2 pockets on the front, denim jacket style seams and cuffs. This is a unisex jacket and looks great on men or women!
