Hand-stitched recycled cotton throw/blanket from Maharastra, India.
This blanket has been ethically made by a woman in Solapur whom I have been working with for the past 5 years. The fabrics she uses are factory-rejected lungis and naturally dyed offcuts. A lungi is a man's skirt worn in South India. The lungis have the smallest imperfections but can not be sold on the market, so to save them from landfill, I collect them and send them to her.
It is different from a normal Kantha as it's made with applique. It is quite a light summer blanket.
