It is made from recycled cotton saris, hand-stitched together with a running stitch. They were originally used to sleep on and not as a blanket. It would be perfect as a throw or bedspread.
It is rare to find a kantha with such fine embroidered motifs as this.
As this kantha is old, there may be some signs of its age such as small marks.
