Vintage Vietnam Era US Army Waxed Cotton Gas Shirt Jacket

Vintage Vietnam war era US army gas shirt - jacket.

Overdyed in black at some stage in the past. Classic buttoned flap over fastening and long knitted cuffs. A few overstitched repairs towards the hem on the front and note that this has the waxy style protective coating on it (so it feels like a waxed cotton garment to the touch).

There is an inner button-up placket to the shirt for the use of a gas mask

The inner labels have been dyed so you will need to check the below measurements. Its 23" across, pit to pit when zipped.

19 1/2" seam to seam across the shoulders at the back

Sleeves are 25 1/2" from the shoulder seam to the end of the sleeve
From nape to hem is 29"
23" across the chest under the arms, the same across the back, seam to seam measured flat

Repaired at the lower front. Shows some mottled marks here and there, some fade marks. The outer surface is waxy due to the protective coating (this does reduce over time with laundering in my experience with others in the past).
